Denmark has suspended its vaccination program against Kovid after health officials said the virus was under control. All other restrictions in Denmark were lifted two months ago.

With the cessation of vaccination, Denmark became the first country in the world to stop injecting drugs against the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Danish Health Service has announced that vaccination will stop on May 15 because the number of new infections is low, the vaccination rate is high and the number of hospitalized is declining. “That’s why we’re ending the mass vaccination program,” said Bolet Soborg, director of infectious diseases at the country’s health service. Vaccination remains recommended for some vulnerable groups. The vaccination program is expected to resume in the fall. “We plan to reopen the vaccination program in the fall. This will be preceded by an in-depth professional assessment of who and when to be vaccinated and with what vaccines, “said Soberg. About 81% of the country’s 5.8 million people have been fully vaccinated with two doses, and another 62% have received a booster dose.
